A non- profit making foundation, created in 2003, which is part of the department for the environment of the Navarran government. Their commitment is to create a new environmental culture and promote sustainability in Navarran society. The organisation is the main beneficiary of the SUD´EAU2 project, dealing with, amongst other things, the financial administration and general co-ordination of the project.

An independent organisation funded by the Cantabrian government’s environment ministry. It was created in 1991 and its undertakings involve the analysis of air, water and soil quality. It also provides information and education as well as promoting public participation in environmental issues.

SMEAG

SMEAG was born out of necessity in 1984 because of the need for consistency in the Garonne Valley. The organisation groups together 2 areas (Aquitaine and Midi-Pyrénées) and 4 departments (French administration areas: la Gironde, le Lot-et-Garonne, Le Tam-et-Garonne and la Haute-Garonne). It is a structural framework with 15 members and a technical team of 12 people. Its principle objectives are global planning for water resources , the quality of the aquatic eco-system and cross border cooperation.

PENAFIEL

A public institution with the main objective of pursuing the public interest. The municipal of Penafiel is integrated in the northern region (NUT II- Regional coordination commission) and in Tâmega (NUT III- municipality). It is subdivided into 38 parishes with a population of 72.129 distributed in an area of 212,2 km2. Penafiel is mainly rural (agricultural/forest) with a strong touristic offering, possessing natural heritage, landscape and gastronomy combined with a good infrastructure.

VIELHA

Vielha and Mijaran council is the local public administration for the capital of the Val d’Aran. The region is located on the north face of the Pyrenees and is the only part of Catalonia sloping down towards the Atlantic coast. It is crossed by the river Garonne which flows into the Atlantic ocean. It must also be added that it has its own language and culture, which together with a varied cultural and touristic offering make this area a reference for the project. Being sustainable and respectful to the environment allows the area to be more attractive and competitive as a place to live or as a tourist destination.

GRANOLLERS

Granollers city council is the local public administration which governs Granollers, the capital of Vallès Oriental, Barcelona. A modern, dynamic and welcoming city, Granollers takes sustainability seriously. The city actively promotes environmental policies and the conservation of the natural spaces which form its heritage and identity. In recent years there have been various projects to rehabilitate the river Congost and its banks. There has been an impressive ecological recovery, which has produced great social benefits. Furthermore, Granollers has also promoted a policy of responsible water management.

EPIDOR

EPIDOR is a public administration agency which is financially and politically independent.. It was created in 1991 by 6 departments crossed by the river Dordogne (Puy-de-Dôme, Cantal, Corrèze, Lot, Dordogne y Gironda). Its remit is to facilitate and harmonise dealings with water and rivers. EPIDOR promotes inter-territorial dialogue and the participation in sustainable management of water, rivers and wetlands. This is achieved through integrated water resource engineering along the length of the Dordogne river basin. Since 2006 EPIDOR has been the recognised agency charged with promoting balanced management of water resources globally in the whole Dordogne river basin. EPIDOR is the founding member of the French EPTB, an organisation which fosters cooperation between various areas within river basins.
